    Easy Bringing Home Baby Checklist

It is hard for me to believe that we are only a few short weeks away from bringing home baby! This summer is very literally flying by! The last time we welcomed a baby into our home was three years ago! And while it might not seem like that long ago, I feel like a new mom all over again. At that time we were living in a one-story ranch home and had a newly two-year-old toddler. So needless to say there wasn’t much of a “shock” with the new baby. We were pretty used to diaper changing and nursing. For this little one though, we are in a position…

    8 Months Pregnant Bumpdate

It is feeling so very real now! We are 8 months pregnant! It is unbelievable that this new little one will be joining us sometime NEXT month! Ahh! I am so excited! Baby Update Littlest lady is doing great! She helps to calm my nerves by being super active. She loves to make use of all the space she has in there and loves to stretch out as much as she can. This week we had another ultrasound to evaluate placenta location as it was low at the last ultrasound. Thankfully everything looks perfect. The placenta has moved up and away from the cervix, baby girl is head down, and…

Old Wives Tales and Third Pregnancy Gender Reveal

The time has come! We are finally far enough along to learn the sex of little baby three! We are excited to share our gender reveal! Yesterday we had our anatomy scan and thankfully the little one was cooperative in letting us know which clothing to take out of the attic. With both of my previous pregnancies I had a strong “feeling” what baby was going to be well before we were able to find out. I just knew Asher was a boy and Ellery was a girl. These silly siblings can’t wait to share the good news! Gut Instict With this little one, it has not been that easy.…

2 Year Old Construction Birthday Party

It feels far too official now…I am the mother of a two-year-old! Over the weekend we had his official construction birthday party fit for our construction loving toddler. I waited until mid-month because I was hoping to have better weather so we could move the party outside and we were very blessed with beautiful weather this weekend! Construction Birthday Party Details The party theme this year was construction based on my son’s love of all forms of construction equipment. I really wanted to make it as eventful for Asher as I could so after he went to sleep Friday night I hung all the decorations and when he woke up…

    Baby Two Bumpdate: 8 Months

How Far Along: 8 months Feeling Physically: Oh man, these last few days have been rough. For starters, I feel like a whale! Also, our little lady is now head down (yay) but that means kicks to the ribs and knee bumps to the abdomen. It is getting cramped in there and sometimes I wonder how she will continue to have room to grow! Feeling Mentally: Being a toddler mom has me exhausted (what’s new right?). Otherwise, I am feeling great. We have had some amazing weather here recently and the grass is green and the trees are blooming so my mood is great.  Maternity Clothes: Yes! Sleeping Well?: See…

Motherhood Lessons and What I’ve Learned Along the Way

I can’t believe in just a few short months I will be a mama to two littles. With the upcoming change (and perhaps a touch of pregnancy hormones making me emotional) I have been reflecting on what the motherhood lessons I have learned over the last two years. Two years seems so recent and yet when I look back on the new-to-motherhood woman I was, it seems like a lifetime ago. The biggest, and probably the toughest motherhood lesson I have learned over the last two years is that being a mom is hard. There is no easy way to say it. It is simultaneously the most amazing, wonderful thing…

    Bumpdate: 7 Months

How Far Along: 7 months! Say what!? Feeling Physically: I am feeling huge! Even though I feel like a walking whale though, I still feel pretty good physically! I am feeling pretty energetic and that has been useful considering the toddler I have to chase around. The hip/sacrum pain has subsided for the most part. I have done some research and learned it is likely a combination of how little lady is positioned and good ol’ hormones and since it isn’t a daily thing anymore I haven’t sought treatment. Feeling Mentally: Great! Even though I am officially in the 3rd trimester I still have the second-trimester energy so I feel…

    Baby Two Bumpdate: 6 Months

How Far Along: 6 months Feeling Physically: I feel okay most of the time. Over the last month or so I have had some hip and pelvic pain. It comes and goes but when it comes…yikes! Feeling Mentally: Work has been slow which has allowed me to get caught up on some home to-do’s and I am feeling great watching my list get shorter and shorter Maternity Clothes: Yes Sleep: I have been sleeping well recently but waking still pretty tired. Asher is blessing us with great, full nights of sleep and I am afraid I might be over sleeping (good problem to have though) Missing Anything: Still warm weather.…

6 Tips for Working Out While Pregnant

Always check with your physician before doing any new physical activity. When I got pregnant with Asher I really didn’t miss a beat with working out until 20 weeks. I kept up with regular running and lifting, paying mind to how I was feeling and being sure to listen to my body. I stopped running at 20 weeks at the advice of a doctor in my OB’s practice who was filling in during an appointment. I regret stopping so early but as a new mom I was terrified something would go wrong with baby so I listened. Though I had stopped running, I continued to lift and do low impact…

Little Lad or Little Lady: Round 2

When I was pregnant with Asher I knew I wanted to do a gender reveal party to share the fun news with all our friends, but this time around we didn’t find out what we were having until early January and with all the hustle and bustle of the holidays I just wasn’t up to hosting another party so we set out to do our reveal just a little differently.  Just for fun here are the results of a few old wives tales: With this pregnancy I have experienced more morning sickness, tiredness, very dry skin, and crazy mood swings. Because this pregnancy has been so much different than my pregnancy with…
