Favorite Toys for One Year Olds

A friend of mine recently asked me for advice on what to get for a baby’s first birthday. This sweet friend just recently married and doesn’t yet have kids but she loves on many kids in her life around her and she will be attending a close friend’s baby girl’s first birthday soon. So in honor of her request I decided to come up with a list of my favorite toys for both of my littles at or around one year old. You can find all sorts of recommendations for this age online but here is a list of our favorites. Personally, as a parent, I prefer open-ended toys, toys…

    Farmer’s Market Birthday Party

Our little baby girl is one year old! How can this possibly be? It feels like this last year has flown by so much faster than Asher’s first year did! Second child probs I suppose.  Since finding out I was having a baby girl, I have been super excited about getting to, perhaps, experience things other than trucks, bugs, dirt, and dinos. So this first birthday party planning was sooo much fun! For Ellery’s theme we decided on a farmer’s market. We wanted something summer-y and fun but a bit unexpected. Easy Toddler Fun: Winter Edition

As you may have noticed, I am not a huge fan of the cold, winter months. Sure I appreciate the spirit and beauty of snow prior to and closely around Christmas time but once New Years rolls around I am all about moving straight into spring and weather that makes going outside enjoyable. We have been blessed with a few random 60 degree days recently but overall we have been trapped indoors most of this winter. I am a huge supporter of easy activities that keep little ones occupied and so here are a few of my recent successes. 1. Bubble Wrap Jumping: This was an activity that started out…

    Toddlerville

In my short 16 months of motherhood I have become wholeheartedly convinced that babies dive head first into toddler-hood on their first birthdays. The evening before their birthday, you lay down to sleep your darling, sweet bitty baby only to wake the next morning to an opinionated, loud, climb-on-everything, likely sticky toddler that has decided to take over and run the town. In the late evening hours he has decided the way things have been going just won’t do and it is time for an immediate change. The tiny tot ruler has decided these changes will include all the toys, pots, pans, and dish rags scattered all over the floor…

Space Themed First Birthday Party- with free downloads

It is so hard to believe our little dude is one year old! It doesn’t feel like nearly 365 days since I entered into the world of motherhood. These last 11+ months have been some of the hardest and most wonderful of my life. But beyond all the mushy mom stuff (ha!) I have been excited to celebrate Little Man’s first birthday! Having never thrown a first birthday, I wasn’t 100% sure what I wanted to do for his “theme” but the hubs is a big fan of space so we decided to that would be a perfect fit. And considering our guest of honor still poops in his pants,…
