    Our Festive Halloween Weekend

With Halloween being on a week day, this weekend just before was sure to be packed with fun! Our fun started on Friday with Pumpkin Patch day at Asher’s school. I was able to volunteer with the pumpkin guts station. Surprisingly kids were not all that interested in playing in the insides of a pumpkin. Asher was able to visit the “patch” and pick his own pumpkin.  Friday night we finally carved our pumpkins! This might be the latest we’ve waited to carve before so there might be jack-o-lanterns on our porch until Thanksgiving! Asher thought eating the slimy goo was hilarious. Ellery…not so much! Saturday we ventured to our…

The holidays are upon us! Believe it or not Halloween is next week?! Though it feels like everyone is jumping straight from Halloween to Christmas, there is another scrumptious holiday in there we can’t forget about.  Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving is a time to gather with our people over a delicious meal. A time to reflect on the last year and soak up our many blessings. Perhaps your family enjoys some after-meal football watching or maybe an all-night/early morning…

    Halloween Home Tour 2018

I am a lover of holidays and also holiday decorations. Christmas is usually the only holiday of the year where I go all out but I also like put some Halloween (and autumn) love around the house when the weather starts to cool.  Over the years I have opted for purchasing fewer, more intentional pieces rather than lots of decorations that will likely only last the one season.  For the outdoor decorations I purchased a bright purple mum and combined it with the pumpkins and gourds we bought at the pumpkin patch this year.  We haven’t carved the pumpkins yet, but in the next week or so we will carve…

    Simplifying the Holidays

Can you believe it is already October? The leaves are falling, the weather is getting (somewhat) cooler, and pumpkins can be spotted everywhere.┬áThe holidays are upon us! I love the holidays! This is my favorite time of the year! As soon as September rolls around I am ready to begin putting out the Halloween decorations and starting planning Christmas parties. The Stress of the Holidays The holidays are truly a wonderful time of the year, but as moms, the execution of wonder and excitement often falls on our plates. We become the party planners, gift buyers, package wrappers, costume designers, menu planners, and candy organizers. It doesn’t take long before…
